Composition (per 200 ml syrup):

  • Milk of Magnesia – 3.75 ml
  • Liquid Paraffin – 1.25 ml
  • Sodium Picosulfate – 3.33 mg

Mechanism of Action

Sodium Picosulfate:
A locally acting laxative with a dual action on the mucosa of the large intestine and rectum, resulting in:

  • Stimulation of peristalsis
  • Accumulation of water and electrolytes
  • Increased bowel movement and defecation

Liquid Paraffin:
Softens feces and coats the intestine with an oily film. Helps:

  • Reduce pain in conditions like hemorrhoids
  • Soften hardened fecal material

Magnesium Hydroxide (Milk of Magnesia):
Increases osmotic pressure in the intestines, drawing in water to:

  • Distend the colon
  • Stimulate peristaltic action
  • Promote smooth bowel evacuation
